'Twas midday when a small brown buck-rabbit popped his head out of his home. His mother was gone for food, and his siblings were sleeping happily in the den. But the young buck was excited, already larger than the rest, a clear leader. His father was proud. Daylight did not come in Bloodfest, but the rabbit's eyes were accustomed to the darkness. Slowly, he trotted across the grass, keeping one keen eye and ear on the mouth of his den, ready to bolt if any danger came. Keen brown gaze and snuffling nose looked left, right and center. But he did not look above. Above, a powerful beast brought up his deadly talons with a scream in which the echoes of a thousand wild lions and boar nestled. Hooves brought up, and down, many times even when the rabbit was still. Another piercing cry, this one high-pitched and mocking. As soon as he was sure every bone of the rabbit's body was broken, the massive beast stampeded across its den, crushing the baby rabbits before they had even seen the murky red sky of the beast's terra. Yet Appetite For Destruction had not killed the rabbits for food. This, Precious, was his way of fun.
